  1. Play some of these classic games for yourself!
    TimeSplitters 2
    Unreal Tournament 3

  2. I agree with the top 2
Quake III is awesome but Unreal Tournament 99 deserves to be at 1º!

    UT99 is do damn awesome!

After 20 years is still played!!

  3. Halo is a pretty good game but I don't think it's a true arena shooter. I mean, we have power weapons and slow TTK (defining points of arena shooters) but you can't sprint in Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3; and in Halo Reach, Halo 4 and Halo 5 Guardians, you can't run and shoot at the same time, which is one of the defining points of an arena shooter. (Again, not saying it's bad, but it's definitely not a true arena shooter)

  4. Gonna be honest: while the list itself is highly questionable, #1 and #2 are totally spot on. Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 are still awesome to play two decades later, but between these two UT is (and always was) superior IMO, and arguably these two (and Doom) are the only entries here that I would really call "arena shooters".

  5. Superb list but absolutely nothing can top the mighty Unreal Tournament for greatest arena shooter of all time. I must have spent literally thousands of hours playing the game and that doesn't even take into account the other thousands of hours pumping out deathmatch & CTF levels using the Unreal Editor.
